Mohammed wins Europe’s Endurance Race

(Wam) / 21 June 2012

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was crowned winner of the Europe’s Endurance Race 2012, which was held at Ancona, Italy.

Shaikh Mohammed led the UAE riders to the finish line of the 160km long race at 8.51.10. He was followed home by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who took second place, with Shaikh Majed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, finishing third.

Coming home first on ‘Maji de bont’, Shaikh Mohammed’s win qualifies him to lead the UAE riders to take part in the World Endurance Cup, due to be held in UK  next August.

The race, which was supervised by the World Equestrian Federation and organised by the Italian Equestrian Federaion, included five stages.
